Booking Requirements by Airline

 

Aer Lingus / IAG Cargo

  • This approval of carriage is on the condition that any customer using the device complies with the correct booking and declaration procedures as per the IAG Cargo website including compliance with IATA DGR regulations where applicable

Air Canada Cargo

  • Customers must notify Air Canada that their cargo contains a *device name* at the time of booking / reservation
  • Device ID must be included in the Handling Information box of the AWB
  • The device must be securely enclosed within the shipment. Air Canada will not be responsible for damage caused to (or loss of) GPS device in transit.

Air Europa

  • Device type must be noted at the time of booking

Air France / KLM

  • Customers must notify AF/KLM agents that their cargo contains a GPS DEVICE at the time of booking / reservation
  • The IATA Special Handling Code EMD must be used when making the booking.
  • Include the brand, type and ID of the tracking device on the AWB and the note "The device is in good and safe condition, and placed as instructed by the supplier.”

Air Bridge Cargo Airlines

  • Device must be used in the cargo compartments only
  • Use of peripheral attachments, such as charging stations, temperature probes, or humidity probes is not covered by the approval.

Air China Cargo

  • Approval for flights originating in China only.

Air New Zealand

  • Should you include any monitoring device in your shipment(s) you must: 

    Ensure it is on the Approved Data Loggers and Tracking Devices list

    Advise the Agent when booking the shipment
    Include the following information in the 'handling section on' the air waybill:
    - Device type e.g. Tracker
    - Make and model e.g. iTraq Butterfly
    - Cell or battery type e.g. lithium ion

American Airlines

  • The following information must be noted on the air waybill in the Nature and Quantity of Goods section: "TRACKING DEVICE ENCLOSED”
Austrian Airlines
  • Devices can be used on the following aircrafts only: Q400, A32F, ERJ and 777

British Airways / IAG Cargo

  • This approval of carriage is on the condition that any customer using the device complies with the correct booking and declaration procedures as per the IAG Cargo website including compliance with IATA DGR regulations where applicable.

Cal Cargo Airlines

  • Customers must notify CAL that their cargo contains a device at the time of booking / reservation
  • Device ID must be included in the Handling Information box of the AWB

Cargolux

  • The device must be placed in cargo/container as per the Manufacturer’s Ops Manual
  • The device must be serviceable as per the Manufacturer’s Ops Manual
  • Any design revision or introduction of any additional data type sensor must be reported to CLX/ICV
  • The CLX/ICV booking office must be notified upon booking of each consignment (i.e. total number of devices)
  • Insert on the AWB the name/model and the total number of devices installed in the consignment. For example “Includes One (1) Sendum PT300D Electronic Monitoring Device”
  • The lithium battery must conform to IATA DGR, current edition, special packing instruction for excepted Lithium Ion Batteries contained in or packed with Equipment
  • Appropriate measures must be taken to prohibit the unintentional activation of the device during any phase of the flight
  • This approval is valid until revoked by CLX/ICV at its own discretion

Cathay Pacific

  • AWB must include proper Lithium Battery declaration: “Nature and Quantity of Goods:
    Lithium ion batteries in compliance with Section II of PI967” .

China Airlines

  • CalAmp SC1004 - Shipper may start to attach this type of device from 10-APR-2021
  • Declaration form required
  • China Airlines Cool Chain

Delta Airlines

  • GPS devices must be properly declared on the Air Waybill at booking and acceptance. The device manufacturer (i.e. "Sendum") and device ID must be provided on the Air Waybill in addition to the "GPS" special handling code.

Emirates Skycargo

  • Shipper/Agent to insert the MANDATORY IATA approved Special Handling Code (SHC) “EMD” in the AWB.

Eva Air

  • Only one GPS tracker can be accepted for each consignment
  • Please check with local office for applicable aircraft type and loading limitation
  • Confirm that the GPS tracker is in good condition by checking the transmission of message
  • The relevant information must be declared on MAWB
  • The shipment will be rejected if the shipment containing GPS tracker does not meet all of the requirements by EVA
  • The following information must be shown on MAWB:
    1. The word “EMD”
    2. The brand and type of EMD. ( iTraq Butterfly or Cal/Amp SC1004  as applicable)
    3. The quantity of EMD.
    4. If the tracker is powered by lithium battery, the applicable statement “lithium ion battery in compliance with Section II of PI967” or “lithium metal battery in compliance with Section II of PI970” is mandatory
    5. 24 Hour Emergency Contact telephone number
  • On the outside of package which contains the tracker , the lithium battery handling mark (label ) (always )must be affixed on the package.
  • If the tracker is used for COVID-19 vaccine , it can apply to IATA D.G.R A220
  • We do not accept the tracker on  A321 (aircraft type )

LATAM Cargo

  • Declare the approved monitoring device make and model in the handling information of the air waybill (AWB)

Lufthansa

  • Local booking agent at origin will flag the booking as having a Sendum device in the shipment by activating the “Realtime Tracking” tick box.

Nippon Cargo Airlines

  • Add the following sentences on the awb:

Radio transmission device contained in this shipment complies with all requirements of RTCA DO-160 and relevant law and regulation.  Any data recorded or transmitted by environmental data logger or tracking device shall not be deemed as a conclusive supporting evidence of concealed damage to the shipment.

SAS Cargo

  • For Sendum: Basic Sensor Pack (BSP) and Accessory Pack (AP) in NOT approved for transport
Singapore Airlines

Southwest Airlines

  • The device must have the factory label affixed to it, indicating the model. Any device not labeled as such or bearing a different model number will not be accepted.
  • All applicable hazardous materials regulations in the current versions of 49 CFR and/or IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations pertaining to the transportation of Lithium batteries by air apply.

Turkish Airlines

  • Customers must notifiy Turkish Cargo that their cargo contains an approved GPS device when making the booking.
  • Include the brand, model, and device ID in the handling specifications of the AWB

United Airlines

  • Customers must notify United that their cargo contains a GPS DEVICE at the time of booking / reservation
  • Device IMEI must be included in the Handling Information box of the AWB
