Battery Guidance

This document provides information from IATA related to Dangerous Goods for Lithium Metal Cells and Lithium Ion Batteries.

CargoSignal will have available upon request the specific Lithium Battery Test Summary report or other required documents with a turnaround of 48 hours.

The CargoSignal products listed can be shipped via air (with airline approval), ground, and ocean in accordance with

  • Lithium Metal: UN 3091, Packing Instruction 970 Section II
  • Lithium Ion: UN 3481, Packing instruction 967 Section II

All Cargo Signal products comply with the current documented requirements as follows:

  • DOT – Lithium Battery - Hazardous Material Regulations
  • IATA – Current IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations Edition
  • IMDG –International Maritime Dangerous Goods Regulation
